Most new models are rechargeable, but disposable batteries still make sense for some people. The right answer depends on your day, not on which is newer.
Runtime and streaming
A full charge typically carries a day of wear, with heavy Bluetooth streaming shortening it. If you stream audio for hours, check the streaming runtime figure rather than the headline number.
Dexterity
Disposable cells are tiny and fiddly. If small parts are difficult to handle, rechargeable aids are much kinder: drop them in the case at night and lift them out in the morning.
Travel and backup
Battery models never need a socket, which suits long trips and camping. Most rechargeable cases hold several extra charges, so a weekend away is fine without power.
Cost over time
Disposable cells add up over the years; rechargeable batteries last several years and are replaced during a service. Over a typical lifespan the difference is modest — choose on convenience instead.
